Tesla Bot upgrade: new shots, opinions and the main product of the nearest future from Elon Musk
Tesla showed an updated version of the Tesla Bot, also known as Optimus. In the published video, robots walk indoors and outdoors, map the environment, recognize and move small objects. The video also shows the possibility of teaching a robot new actions by copying human movements. Elon Musk presented a demo video on May 16, 2023 at the company’s annual meeting of shareholders. Tesla’s humanoid robot was first revealed last year at an AI Day event. At the time, a stripped-down version of the robot was shown that could only move forward and wave in greeting, not to mention manipulate objects. The video highlights some specific updates to the Tesla Bot project, including motor torque control, environmental detection and memory, AI training based on human-tracked movements. One Tesla bot was shown picking up items from one container and putting them into a second container, which was also demonstrated as an example of bot AI training using a human demo. After seven months from the first presentation, it looks like Tesla’s bot is on its way to becoming a great product, having gone through a great evolution from its original form to the final version. Tesla hasn’t given an exact release date for the robots, but Tesla is expected to start production of the Tesla Bot sometime after the company delivers its first Cybertrucks.
